Last week, the Manila Bulletin Tech News team covered the Seagate Backup Plus Hub which stood as a sensible backup for computing folks in need of large storage options. This time around, we tackle the portable and smaller storage solution in the Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim Portable Storage.
Meet the Smaller and Portable Version
The only difference between the two is that the Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim portable storage is something techies can carry on the go. Some may compare it to common portable hard drives with the difference in the data transfer rate. Similar to its bigger brother, the portable storage solution makes use of USB 3.0 connectivity which facilitates faster data transfer rates of up to 120 MB per second.
It also offers the same bundled 200 GB of Microsoft OneDrive storage compatible with Lyve and Seagate Dashboard software for easy backup of documents, photos, videos and other content.
Hip and Slick to carry along
The portable storage solution is incredibly thin, sporting the company’s latest 7.5 mm 2.5-inch HDD technology. Its overall dimension is 113.5 x 76 x 9.6 mm and only 9.6 mm thick. The external storage device is available in 1 TB and 2 TB variations, a choice for folks depending on the files that need to be accessed or backed up.
Aside from files, one of the striking features includes backup for social media profiles. With most people joining the social media frenzy, backing up accounts along with the photos and videos are safeguarded as well.
The Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim also accommodates devices that run on Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.9, iOS 8, Android 3.0 at the least. Like other Seagate Backup Plus variants, it requires an Internet connection to use the cloud computing feature.
