OnePlus 5… and keep on counting the plusses

One of the best surprises of 2017. OnePlus 5 is the new talk of the town among millenials and tech heavy aficionados. The new OnePlus 5 comes with two versions: a base model with 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM; and the high-end version with a 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system chip. It runs smoothly and incredibly fast – perfect for mobile gaming and for binged watching high-res videos!

While the OnePlus 5 is running the latest version OxygenOS and Google’s newest version of operating system Android ‘Nougat’ 7, according to OnePlus, they are bringing the Android O update to the OnePlus 5 after its most awaited release this late August or early September.


Available in dark gray and deep black colorways, the premium heavy specs of the OnePlus 5 is the thinniest phone OnePlus has ever made at 7.25mm – feather light and classy. And note that there is still a 3.5mm headphone jack next to the USB-C port at the bottom of the phone. Likewise, using the loud speakers located also at the bottom, the audio quality remained intact and crisp. Though OnePlus kept the QHD resolution, the same as the 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display from the OnePlus 3T, the screen resolution still looks smooth, beautiful, and super bright partnered with the Gorilla Glass 5.

Lasting a day on a single charge, the OnePlus 5 has a downgrade of 3,300mAh battery compared to the 3,400mAh batter of the OnePlus3T. However, still remarkbale lasting a full day of normal use, the OnePlus5 was able to keep its pace in efficiency and power.


All the new the high-tech specs of the OnePlus5, the most noticeable feauture of this new phone is the dual-lens camera setup that allows lossless zooming feature and bokeh shots. Innovative, the rear camera are composed of a 16MP primary lens and a 20MP telephoto lens. The former at a super-wide aperture of f/1.7 – serene and bright and not overexposed, while the latter has an aperture of f/2.6.

What is surprising with the OnePlus 5 is the Pro mode that allows the user command and control with complete manual camera settings. To top it off, OnePlus 5 camera offers four video recording quality at 720p, 1080p, 1080p at 60 frames per sec or the 4K. On the other hand, for selfies, the front camera has a 16MP camera that can also record videos in 1080p – perfect for kick-start vloggers who also wants keep up with their social media accounts.

Summing up, the OnePlus 5 has it all. Everything – from powerhouse tech specs, the latest updated sofware, up to the new dual-lens camera set-up at a lower price compared to most of the other flagship phones available right now in the market. The OnePlus 5 is the perfect Android phone just for everyone!
