Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) introduced its enhanced mobile app to give clients easier access to their accounts and a safer mobile banking experience.
The new BPI mobile app shares the look of the new BPI online banking portal, which was released last April. The bank aims to create one seamless experience for all its digital channels, regardless of the type of device used to access the accounts.
“We adopted a crisp and minimalist design for our app, focusing on remarkable user experience. Our promise is really a better digital banking experience: faster and easier, more secure and more reliable,” said Noel Santiago, Group Head of BPI Electronic Channels.
The new BPI mobile app comes with more built-in security features, including One-Time PIN and biometric log-in. The One-Time PIN is a security layer for transferring money, paying bills and making changes in the account. It is sent to your mobile phone, which you then have a key in before completing your requests. As for biometric log-in, you can just have your mobile device scan your fingerprint or use the camera for facial recognition to quickly access your accounts.
“These security features will certainly give our clients more peace of mind, knowing that their money is safe and that transactions are more secure,” said Santiago. “You can say that the facial recognition and fingerprint scanning are cool features, too. You don’t have to key in your password or even remember them. Transactions are therefore faster and certainly more secure.”
Santiago also said that the new digital platforms are just the start of exciting things to come for BPI’s clients. The new BPI mobile app will be available in Google Play and App Store on May 15, 2018.
