It was three years ago when netizens lost their mind after a controversial “gold/blue dress” surfaced on the Internet. This time, it’s not an optical illusion.
On Tuesday, a short audio clip went viral and seemed to be tearing the Internet world apart.
The clip came to the public’s attention when Snapchat personality Cloe Feldman posted. On Twitter, Feldman uploaded the file and asked her followers “What do you hear? Yanny or Laurel?” She said she heard Yanny.
According to New York Times, the debate began when user @RolandCamry uploaded the audio file three days ago at Reddit, and people on the Internet had been arguing over what they heard.
When one of the Reddit users asked where the clip originally came from, Roland gave the link of vocabulary.com.
Turns out, the audio file was actually from the dictionary entry for Laurel.
