I’d like to thank our volunteers here and overseas. Your measures are helping the Philippine Government monitor and track Telco performance. In addition, I am happy to share that BASS (projectbass.org) is being used worldwide.
While BASS started out in the Philippines, our volunteer OFWs are also using BASS in their host countries as well. This allowed us to capture the comparative stats on internet speeds in other networks outside of the Philippines.
Here is how Philippine Networks compare with worldwide data:
And locally, check out http://dict.gov.ph/bass for the top WIFI networks. (Thanks to Ms. Grace Mirandilla Santos for corrections/improvements)
Finally, my thanks to Walt Wollny for pointing out that the IP block listed for “Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company” now belongs to “Hong Kong Cloud” and owned by Micfo.com. The IP address lookups are based on MaxMind’s GeoIPlite product. If you are interested to join our advocacy, please visit our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ProjectBassApp/
