Establishing its niche in the gaming market, HyperX attributes its thrust in bringing ‘real’ gaming needs to thorough research.

According to Kingston PR Supervisor for the APAC Region, Weina Chen, HyperX is an example of how Kingston prioritizes addressing the ever-changing tech market, which they do by allotting a lot of efforts for research.

“We’re constantly adjusting our direction based on our research into the market. One example is HyperX. We launched our first gaming headset in 2014, and it took us five years of research into gamers behavior,” Chen said. “We worked with a lot of focus group, influencers, and e-sports gamers to actually know what their needs are.”

“We found out that their primary needs for a gaming headset is comfortability because they’re playing games for a long time,” she added.

Chen also mentioned that through this, HyperX has been known in bringing out to the market gaming headsets that has not just premium design and audio performance but also ergonomics.

“There are a lot of headset manufacturers in the market but this one distinction makes us stand out among all competitors. Right now, locally, we are the number two in the market share and we occupy almost one-fourth of gaming headsets,” Chen noted.

“We always say that we might not be the first in innovation but we do our research carefully. We launch the products based on people’s real needs,” she furthered.

As a proof of their efforts in sufficing consumer needs according to market changes, HyperX recently introduced the HyperX Cloud Earbuds specialized for Nintendo Switch gamers.

Leveraging more on the local gaming scene, Chen said that HyperX sees great potential in the in the Philippines especially with the rise of e-sports.

“We do see the potential of the Philippine gaming market because we’re aware of the very active gaming community here. We do see the increase of interest in e-sports. We definitely want to have our brand stand out in the community.”

Chen also shared that HyperX will continue reaching out to different types of Filipino gamers to talk about the merging trends between traditional gaming and e-sports.
